Women's Rights and Gender Equality Committee: highlights of next meeting

Jointly with the Employment and Social Affairs Committee, MEPs will vote on their draft report and decide whether to start negotiations with Council on new rules to boost equality bodies. The MEPs steering the file through Parliament are Sirpa Pietikäinen (EPP, Finland) and Marc Angel (S&D, Luxembourg).

MEPs will discuss the draft amendments to the report on gender aspects of the rising cost of living and the impact of the energy crisis with rapporteur Alice Kuhnke (Greens/EFA, Sweden).
Presentations
Immediaty after this, MEPs will hear from Marie Hyland, Research officer at Eurofound about data on gendered implications of the rising cost of living and energy.
Jointly with the Development Committee at 15:00, MEPs will hear from the Court of Auditors on The Spotlight Initiative to end violence against women and girls.
