MEPs examine the needs of EU Eastern Border regions in North-Eastern Poland

A delegation from the Regional Development Committee will head to Biała Podlaska, Białystok and Pisz in Poland to discuss regional priorities with local leaders.

 

To start off their three-day visit to North-Eastern Poland, the MEP delegation led by Andrey Novakov (EPP, BG) will visit border crossing points in Sławatycze and Terespol together with Voivode of Lublin Krzysztof Komorski, Commander of the Nadbużański Branch of the Border Guard Gen. Jacek Szcząchor (in Sławatycze) and other local stakeholders.

 

Next, MEPs will travel to Biała Podlaska to meet local and regional authorities, representatives of the road transport industry and members of the local Chamber of Commerce. They will also visit a dry road-rail reloading port in Małaszewicze Kobylany.

 

Continuing to Białystok, MEPs will meet with Jacek Brzozowski, Voivode of Podlaskie, and Łukasz Prokorym, Marshal of Podlaskie, and discuss regional priorities with representatives from other local administrations in the area. The delegation will also visit the Bialystok University of Technology to learn about its technology and industrial cluster projects.

 

The visit concludes in the Warmian-Masurian Voivodeship, where MEPs will meet Marshal Marcin Kuchciński, as well as Pisz city authorities. They will also visit local development projects, including a Pisa River wharf, the Guzianka Lock and the Masurian cycling loop project.
