Statement by the EP negotiating team on the regulation on combatting child sexual abuse online

After inter-institutional negotiations on 29 June, the EP negotiating team issued the following statement.

“After six months of intensive work during the Cyprus Presidency, the negotiations have advanced significantly, and we managed to reach compromises on almost the entire Regulation, advancing on our shared objective to protect children from sexual abuse online. The substantive progress made today allows us to focus on finding balanced solutions on the remaining aspects of the Regulation, in particular on detection, as early as possible.”
